Both wrong.
The historical character was a protegé of one very famous military commander and the nemesis of another. His skills, in addition to those expected of a military leader, would also include those of a statesman and nation-builder. In particular, Teaching seems to have been very high. On the other hand, Luck or Serendipity would have been out of character. In his own time, a considerable Reputation for military feats. Of course, famous military leaders are a dime a dozen. The truly valuable hint is the one about animals.

The most obvious asexual war-leader I am aware of was Narses and he was only artificially asexual. And had two eyes.
Nelson was certainly not asexual. I am not aware of Moshe Dayan being noted as an animal friend, and never took an interest in his love life.
