New Player Questions for Adventure Time Munchkin
Just 2 primary questions, really.
1. Situational Bonuses - When a card gives a subtext situational bonus (i.e. +1 bonus, +3 for Wizards; or, +3 bonus, +6 against Demons), does the situational bonus overwrite the original, or does it simply add on to the original? For example, for a card saying "+1 bonus, +3 for Wizards", if you are a Wizard, would you get a +4 or would you get a +3? And, respectively to my second example, would you do +9 to Demons, or would you only do +6? I've tried to find an answer everywhere but it doesn't seem to clarify in the game rules and I can't find anyone else asking the same question. 2. "On The Table" - There is a card that gives +2 for each digital device "on the table", and others for things like beverages and sweet stuff. Do these apply for real-life objects, or for cards? I've had sweet and digital item cards so that made a little sense but I don't recall any beverage items. I'll probably have more questions as I encounter more situations but those are our biggest debates for now. Thank you for any help. |

Re: New Player Questions for Adventure Time Munchkin
The conditional bonuses are normally one or the other, not combined. Words or phrases like "extra," "in addition to," or "additional" would indicate that it's an add-on bonus, not a replacement.
The bonus for things like sweets, digital items, and beverages do actually refer to real world things on the table. As for future questions, please create new threads for your new questions. It helps everyone out, especially when it comes to searching the forum for answers when there's one questions per thread. |

Re: New Player Questions for Adventure Time Munchkin
The conditional bonuses actually do not say. At the top of the card it says "+3 Bonus" and directly underneath it, in smaller red text, it says "+6 against Demons". That is where the confusion comes from, because I was specifically looking for context clues. The only available context clues exist on monster cards with additional bonuses where they get a buff for random stuff (such as digital devices).
Thank you for the clarification, and I'm sorry if I did not post this properly. I am not a familiar forum user and only registered to ask these questions. |

Right, which is why I said that the normal condition is that it's not a bonus in addition to, but instead of, the original bonus. If it says something specific on the card, then follow that instead.

We were playing on a desk and someone played the +2 for beverages card. It was decided after much discussion (read: arguing) that a desk is not a table and no bonus was awarded! Something to think about next time the situation comes up :) |
