Re: Bestiary 4e
I believe I've already mentioned that i'm not a zoologist. Do you have a comment on my actual suggestion?

Basically mimics the model of the Basic Set and subsequent suppliments. We're use to it and its proven. I'd go for it, personally. Now to find some authors . . .

A) It being a good idea, and B) people not reading the thread before posting.
Unfortunately, I think it's unlikely to happen. But I agree it's a good approach. |

You either have to flip between two books or you have a lot of repeated material. However if just the stat block is repeated and not the detailed description that would save a lot of space. You dont really need the detailed description in combat, at least not all of it.

Re: Bestiary 4e
I don't see how those would stop you. You could have Arctic Fox under both A *and* F, even if it shares part of its page with Fish, and you can turn the sheets over and print Frog on the back of one and Arctic Hare on the back of the other.

Re: Bestiary 4e
I figure you need stat blocks and point totals immediately to hand. So long as you have the main templates in the main book, but have the lenses, final point totals, and stat blocks in the biomes books, you should be good.

Anyway, I'm disappointed that having multiple small releases (as pdf) most likely means we won't see nice color artwork, maybe not even good artwork at all, but just some occasional b/w-reprints of a few animal drawings from 3e. Well, it seems we can't have it all... ;) Actually I really think a Bestiary would be a good selling item if it would be released as a Hard- or Softcover with nice graphics. This can be seen in different other games where bestiaries usually are a popular buy. Last edited by OldSam; 07-05-2012 at 10:31 AM. |
