Default Looking for copy of the *old* rules for vehicles

Hi all. I'm working (sometimes) on a program for designing Car Wars vehicles. I want to initially make it as simple as I can, to get the basics down. This is not intended for release (for money), and if it seems to work OK, I might go so far as to request permission from SJGames to let it out as freeware.

But anyway, here's what I'm looking for. A copy of the vehicle design rules from the original pocket box edition of CW. I found my old pocket box, but at some point the rules booklet moved to another box, and I have no idea where. I could work from my Uncle Als catalog, but I want to keep the equipment and weapon count down, just to keep my life simple.

The only issue I can see with my request is it likely would be considered copyright violation for someone to scan in and e-mail the design rules....

Thanks,
Jason A.

I am sure I have an old copy... But wouldn't you want to use the most updated, which would be the compendium?

Sort of. What I want is just the basic body types, weapons, and equipment, but I'll use the weight, space, and cost numbers from Uncle Al.

Looking through UA, I can't recall what weapons are or are not from the "early years." As I am going to store the numbers for the body types, weapons, etc in databases, rather than hard-coding them into the program, it will be easy to add weapons, once I get the basics working. Hopefully it will also be relatively easy to add body types (cycles, trucks)

The final hassle will be figuring out how to get it to print out usable record sheets.

Thanks,
Jason A.

Well, if you use the Uncle Al's Catalog from Hell, it has all the stuff.

Do you have that book?

Do you know where I can find a copy of UACfH?

Yeah, I've got my copy of Uncle Als. If you've got the original pocket box rules, could you send me a list of the weapons and equipment? As I said, I want to try to keep it simple for now, and that means a limited weapon / equipment selection.

Don't need the weight / space numbers, as I'll pull those from UACfH.

Thanks,
Jason A.

It'd be easier to send the whole thing. PM me your address, and I will send you the pocket box rules.

Im just looking for the old version of the rules so we can play Car Wars. One of the things we were into just as much as the duel was the actual design of the cars. If anyone knows where I can lay my hands on a copy of the old rules let me know.

I have an extra Car Wars Deluxe Edition box that I can part with. The box has some wrinkles and wear, and the Compendium has a little crease on the cover, but everything is there. Someone cut out a couple of cars and a turning key, the rest of the counters are uncut. It looks like someone played it once and put it back in the box.

The box contains:
Jump-Start Rules Insert
Car Wars Compendium Second Edition (blue cover)
Vehicle Design Tables and Weapons Lists
Counter Sheets
Road Sections
Truck Stop (map, scenarios)
Midville (map x2, scenarios)
Jumping and Falling Rules Insert
Autoduel Ouarterly (ADQ) 9-1

Whatever "$10+ Bonus Suppliment" came in the box must be gone, since the ADQ didn't retail for $10.

$15 + Shipping, Pay Pal pref.

On a related note, I am looking for a copy of the BLACK covered compendium, if anyone has one for sale. =]
