Does anyone know if the minis will be the same scale as the counters from previous editions?

No. The minis are scaled significantly larger than in (many of the) earlier editions. Roughly 3x the first edition.

I haven't seen mention of this in either videos or comments, so I think the answer is "not core, maybe in the future"

Do the core rules cover shooting from elevation, ramps, falling from heights, etc?

Definitely not. Such rules would be far too complicated for the core game or for the first wave. Our goal is to create a fast game with as few unnecessary complications as necessary. Any rules for jumping, if they happen, would be in the future.

Even though I asked (and suspected the answer) that's one of the greatest things I appreciate about this project.

No boats, bikes, helicopters, spreadsheets, days to build cars, etc.
