Question about will-based afflictions
Once upon a time NPC used 'memory wipe' on a PC - that looked like a bright flash of light, similar to camera flash. PC resisted this attempt.
So here's the question: does PC know what exactly happened? He has no experience with memory wiping stuff at all. Memory Wipe techie looks like this: Code:
Affliction 3 (Based on Will, +20%; Breakable, DR 6, Machine, SM -9, -15%; Can Be Stolen, Quick Contest of ST, -30%; Disadvantage, Delusion, Significant Memory, +10%; Extended Duration, Permanent, +150%; Malediction 1, +100%; No Signature, +20%; Selective Effect, +20%; Vision-Based, -20%) |

Re: Question about will-based afflictions
According to power 164, if you have No Signature enhancement then it is only detectable by special senses.
That being said: A flash of light is not really "No signature" |

Re: Question about will-based afflictions
Probably some idea. A Will roll kind of implies you are able to actively resist with your conscious mind, which in turn implies that you have some idea of what is happening to you. On the other hand, it seems unlikely to be as specific as 'that thing was trying to erase my memory'; something like 'it was messing with my mind somehow' seems like a more typical level of information you would expect.
On the gripping hand, you've got 'no signature' as an enhancement. What does that represent? Presumably it isn't invisible, since you describe it as a bright flash of light, so possibly it doesn't have a mental signature, making it impossible to analyse what it does to you without suffering the effects. |
