Default What fictional worlds would be very GURPS friendly.

I was thinking, what fictional worlds out there would be a good fit to be roleplayed using the GURPS rules?

Some that came to my mind

Babylon 5
Space Above and Beyond
Batman Begins/The Dark Knight

That's just three that came to mind just sitting here. What other thoughts are there from the peanut gallery?

I'll give you SAAB, it's a nice TL9^ (FTL and artificial gravity) setting.

B5, though, is tricky, particularly once combat is involved (and let's face it, with RPGs, combat always becomes an issue sooner or later). UT contains no weapons comparable to the PPG, and ultra-tech combat in general assumes everybody is wearing at least some armor (which isn't usually the case in B5).

Batman...yeah, would work.

My pick is a little more...medieval: A Song of Ice and Fire. With the gritty combat options from MA you can get pretty close to the sheer brutality of that (rather realistic, in that respect) setting, and everything else is also easily handled through existing rules.

Its a generic system. IT works for all gameworlds... The real trick is coming up with which GURPS rules you are going to use for each gameworld! :)

Lord Darcy, using Path/Book Magic and Philosopher's Algebra as the Core skill.

Almost all since Gurps is Generic Universal Roleplaying System.

Christopher Nolan Batman world works well, so does X-Men and NBC Heroes.

I have run both Star Wars and Star Trek in Gurps, it seemed to work fine.

Even DnD style Fantasy works well, some complain about the magic is not compatible but that i easy to fix.

B5 psi are simple enough but the Technomancers are to me the most difficult to create in Gurps.

The Gap Cycle by Steven R. Donaldson would work pretty good..... reminds me I have to go back and read his stuff over again soon.

"TORCHWOOD".....without or without its 'DOCTOR WHO" connection

also :

"Men In Black" - kind of the predecessor or North American equivalent to TORCHWOOD.
