Giant Killer martial arts style
Is there a martial arts style anywhere designed for smaller characters to be able to take down much larger opponents?

Not that I know of. How much larger are we talking about here?

I would say large enough that the character would be limited to hitting the legs and groin unless they jump a lot. I'd say a size difference of 3.

The Grundemorgen Monster-Slaying style in Pyramid 3/22 is definitely aimed at some size difference (humans and gnomes who fight ogres, mainly), but the size difference isn't quite that severe.
It may be something to look at as a start in building a custom style, though. |

If we're cinematic at all, something need to be done for the technique of scaling your opponent and attacking the back of the neck.

Another thing you can look at is that, as written, I don't think there's a prohibition against using Judo Throw on much, much larger opponents. You might also look into Trip and other moves that make your giant foe fall down.

Re: Giant Killer martial arts style
You'll want Targeted Attacks to chinks in armour (heel/knee) or 'vitals' (achilles tendon; between the toes; under the toenails; behind the knee, etc.) and depending on reach of your weapons and SM difference, the old groin strike.
To survive, I guess you might want Enhanced Block, Acrobatics, Shield Wall Training? Mr Cole's post reminds me of the Hoth battle against the AT_ATs... maybe use Binding technique?! |

Re: Giant Killer martial arts style
I suppose the obvious "high damage ranged weapons" is not helpful. ;)
(Though that is the usual way for real-world fights against high-SM opponents, like elephants or capital ships....) |
