Disadvantage question
I don't feel Life Bane quite has the right feel, and haven't found a good one yet to cover it in my readings. So, here is my question.
What would be the best fit for something that describes a sense of dread that a person is filled with barely contained power, and at any time could reduce reality to chaos and ruin? What game effects might it have, and what value...? |

Re: Disadvantage question
Leaving aside potential advantages this could justify ("reveal oneself" to someone for Terror, and so on), the primary in-game effect I see would be to have those who feel spooked by the character react poorly to him, at the usual -5 points per -1 to reaction rolls. Possibly add a disadvantage equivalent to "Distinctive Features" (at -1 point per +1 for others to identify you, and -1 to disguise yourself), given that this feeling would presumably make others more likely to pay attention to the character.

Re: Disadvantage question
Sounds like you're looking for some sort of reaction penalty to me.
Baseline value is -5 points per -1 to reaction, it is usually capped at -20 points for -4 to reaction rolls on a single disadvantage. As with other reaction modifiers it should be modified by the ease of which it is noticed and how large a portion of the populace would react to it. |

Re: Disadvantage question
You might class it as a Supernatural Feature (B157). Reaction penalty, plus a bonus to those perceiving your feature to discover your true nature. It's similar to text examples like "No Shadow" or "No Reflection", albeit the presence of something rather than its absence.
