Default Lizard and "enters combat" effects

When Lizard from Munchkin Marvel enters combat and its enters combat ability causes it to copy the combat ability of another creature with an enters combat ability, does the copied enters combat ability take effect as well?

I don't have those cards handy to check, but for now I'm saying yes.

I ask because it seems that the "enters combat" phase of the game has already passed by the time Lizard's copy ability has taken effect. So even though Lizard has already entered combat and is currently sitting in combat, the enters combat ability acquired from another enters combat ability still takes effect? Is the principle then where one enters combat ability affects another, you have to fully process all of them sequentially until there are no more before the creature is considered to have completely entered combat?

Without knowing the exact cards you're talking about, it's tough to give a complete answer. However, we do distinguish between effects that happen at the start of combat -- which means if the monster is added after combat has begun, the ability doesn't happen -- and abilities that trigger when the monster itself enters combat. In the latter case, something that duplicates a monster would go off when the duplicate itself enters combat, because the duplicate is a distinct, identical monster.
