Determining the highest-level monster
When discarding the highest-level monster due to there being no bases left for a new one, how to treat conditional bonuses (such as "+5 (+10 against wizards)")? The way we've handled this so far was to just ignore conditionals (use "+5" in the above example). Is this the way it's intended, or are the bonuses to be added up from the perspective of the player during whose turn the new monster is being brought into play? Thanks!

Ignore those. But do count enhancers.

Re: Determining the highest-level monster
That's how we did it. Think if it like this, if you're discarding the highest level monster(s) because you're out of bases, it's because you're facing a different monster. The monster about to be discarded isn't currently in combat, so it wouldn't be facing a Wizard (or whatever) so the condition for the monster to ge the bonus would not be met.

That's the way we played it, too, so thanks for the consensus. :-)
One more specific case, however: With the "Mate" monster enhancer, is the affected monster's level effectively doubled when determining the highest-level monster? |

Re: Determining the highest-level monster
I'd like the opinion of Erik D. Zane, the Lord Munchkin on this.
Because . . . I see the a Mated Monster as one 20th level single entity: Mate is a monster enhancer end there is only one base.
