We announce releases to the public three months before the ship date, usually around the middle of the month. Our policy is not to discuss specific dates for unannounced projects, because Things Can Happen to derail them (and have, over and over and over and...).

In other words, the page that you mention contains the most up-to-date information that we are prepared to commit to, and anything beyond that would be speculative at best.

Meh. Pyramid articles are hardly "canon", especially when they contradict what's in the books.

Not really. The "new releases" page is full of Munchkin, Cthulhu Dice Bags and other non-GURPS stuff. From GURPS, we get old 3rd edition stuff and lots of minor books (like GURPS City Stats).

With the exception of major releases (physical books or those destined to be), GURPS products aren't announced on the New Releases page ahead of time. This is because by the time we know for certain when we're going to release a supplement, it's usually only a few days from being done -- so we'd rather just go ahead and release it!

I suppose that may not be the best marketing decision. In a sense, it might be better to announce the book, then sit on it for two months to build anticipation, then release it when everyone's chomping at the bit for it... but honestly, we'd rather just get the books out and into your (virtual) hands ASAP.

These are nice, but GURPS must move forward with major releases. Low Tech is one such book, and Girl Genius is another. Still, none of these books are on the schedule for new releases.

That's because we don't have a specific release date (i.e., month) for either.

As Kromm has said, it looks like Low-Tech may see the light of day before the end of the year (and, if not, hopefully very early in the the next), but we aren't sure exactly which month. Hopefully we'll have more information soon. Once it's assigned a specific date, you'll see it show up on the New Releases list once said date is within the next three months. (For example, October is the third full month away, so right now you can see everything up through October.)

As for Girl Genius, I'm afraid I can't say more than, "It's being actively worked on." Please don't expect even a guess at release dates yet -- we're simply not at a stage where that would be feasible.

"Further Out" is reserved for the rare cases when we announce something WELL in advance (or the slightly less rare cases -- dammit -- when an announced release gets pushed way back on the schedule). Most games are announced three months ahead of their release date and will never appear on Further Out.

Ah, thanks for the correction. I thought I'd recalled some books (Vorkosigan, maybe?) being announced closer to six months ahead of time.
