I did the same -- there's no confirmation, but I'm assuming it worked correctly. I only see the two channels so far, #welcome and #rules, but those are generally set to read-only on most servers.

We are both in. I see us in the "Members" area of the Discord server. So yes, typing "?register" (no quotes) is the correct course of action, and there is no formal notification after that.

If you look at the "people" list on the right of the discord page, "Members" have been successfully registered, I think. So I see myself, and Mook, and 23 others.

The key thing is that you need to type the question mark

?register

not just

register

If someone is offline, you can still click on them and look for their "Role." If you're registered, it should say "Members" I think.

Will there be a general convention "ball room" where we can meet and greet?

I am running a Discord role playing game of that other deep and dangerous variety for my adult children, one who is living inNepal right now and it starts at 7:00 pm so this will be a Discord day for me.

How do we sign up for the online FnordCon 2? I've posted notices of it on Facebook and today will post a notice on my blog. The link http://www.sjgames.com/fnordcon/ doesn't actually seem to say where to go or what to do to sign up.

If someone can let me know, I'll add a note about it to the posts I've made. Thanks!

Hey y'all, hope you're doing well. I suggest that you make it more apparent that the link is coming on Friday by posting that fact on the Daily Illuminator. Andrew's Daily Illuminator from today leads to a post from Steve on 4/10 that then leads to a out-of-date Discord link. The Fnordcon 2020 page just contains a schedule with no further news or links other than that this is now a virtual convention.

I'd love to share this news with my Maxis/EA team here in Austin as I think many of them would join Fnordcon via Discord. Especially since we're all trapped at home and are what you could call a captive audience.
