Re: October 2, 2017: Triplanetary ? For Real This Time
What a cool surprise.
I never played this game, but it sounds interesting. It would be good to get some exposure again to some of the old games in our hobby. There are certain trends to the industry at various times. Maybe I'm just burned out, but I sometimes don't feel very inspired browsing through the shelves of a game store today. I think I just miss something different that I can really sink my teeth into. It's also surprising that there's room in the SJ Games schedule to pop this out on such short official notice. (There seems to be an angst in the forums sometimes as to how the "limited resources" will be allocated.) |

Ultimately, Steve Jackson owns the Steve Jackson Games schedule (by the simple means of owning Steve Jackson Games). If he wants something on the schedule, it goes on the schedule.
And I can understand why Mr. Jackson wants Triplanetary on the schedule - he made a promise that he'd release a new edition of the game.

Oh, man. I would so love this. I haven't played since the 80s and would love to be able to do so again (and to introduce my wife to the game).

This is one of the few games from GDW (the original publisher of the game) which I never got. So, needless to say, I've been waiting for this opportunity to complete my collection for some time. ;-)
Mega-thanks to all involved, and good luck with the playtest! (Hurry up and take my money!!) :-D Franklin

My heart leaped when I saw this announcement. I loved this game. I can't wait to introduce it to my kids.

Never played it. Never heard of it, but from what I can find, it looks interesting. Love hex & counter games!
Cant wait to give it a try. |
