He responds to Korbin. "Alright, that'll be another 15 for tonight."

He continues, addressing the rest of the group.

"You know, I couldn't help but overhear you talking about healing magic. Well, we don't have much in the way of any kind of magic in this little town, but when someone gets real sick we usually head to Drylake, the next town down the way Northwest. They've got a witch there who can fix most ailments. It's a long way, though, so you probably want to get started right away, or stay tonight and leave early tomorrow."

"I"m not real sure. I've never been sick enough to need to go there, but from what I hear she mixes up disgusting broths and has you drink them, or pours them on you. She must be real old by now, too, 'cause folks were talking about her even when I was just a kid."

Korbin nods. "Sounds a bit like what I do." Turning to the others he adds, "If she's that old, she may be better at it than i am. Possibly far better. I think it'd be worth the time to see what she's experienced." Turning to the innkeeper he says: "Thanks friend. You may have saved a lot of lives over the next few years."

then stands up and makes a step towards the door.

"I'll return by tomorrow morning, along with my baggage. So long!"

He nods to the others, turns around and leaves the inn, walking back to his camp in the wood.

*ooc: what is the typical price? 1 or 2 silvers? (1:1 conversion to gurps-$?)

ooc: I'm using the Yttarian coin structure in the Banestorm .gdf.

$1 for the copper Florin/Halal/Yen/Khenn

4 to the silver Penny/Silver Dirham 10 for the Silver Yen,

12 for the Copper Dann,

100 for the Gold Dinar,

144 for the Silver Flo,

200 for the Gold Mark,

1000 for the Silver Pound/Gold Talent

and a whopping 5184 for the Gold Tohn.

Which in Korbin's case means he came to town with $48 and now has $8.

Looking at tip Arlen left on the table, the bartender decides it would be impolite to pressure him to stay the night. "Well, good luck in the woods, and thanks for your custom!"

I chose "dinar" as an analog to modern currencies (and because I like the sound of the word), not the historical Gold Dinar. I like to avoid arithmetic when possible, so my thought was that the conversion rate for GURPS$ to Dinar is 1:1, and that no word other than "dinar" would be used.

If a different word sounds better to you ("silver", "copper", "dollar", or anything else), then I'll happily change it; the name of the currency was a very lately added detail to the world.
