[New Release] GURPS Martial Arts: Yrth Fighting Styles
You got your martial arts in my fantasy world!
You got your fantasy world in my martial arts! Two great tastes are together at least, with GURPS Martial Arts: Yrth Fighting Styles. This supplement includes over a dozen armed and unarmed styles, including those fueled by Imbuement Skills, used by shapeshifters, and more. Enhance your GURPS Banestorm setting -- or any fantasy world -- with background info that'll add depth and possibilities to your martial masters. With this supplement, you might just be saying, "Ooh, heaven is a place on Yrth!"* * But you probably won't say that, we admit it. |

I sent a character based on one of these styles to the GM on Sunday, and it'll be played on Wednesday. Six days from release to play is a personal record.

Battlecraft. The character is a dwarf from the fantasy world in the GURPS TORG campaign that's starting up, but many aspects of the style are fairly generically dwarven. He's primarily a herald, as a bard/diplomat/faceman, but the style was useful for building a defensive fighter who's effective without spending too many points.

Re: [New Release] GURPS Martial Arts: Yrth Fighting Styles
So I have a question/possible errata.
"Ulvinger Fighting" cites a new perk: Shape Mastery. To have this perk, you have to have Alternate Form at "Reduced Time 5 (+100%)" for instant shape changing. But the Shapeshifting advantage, described in Basic Set on p. 83, says "To shift between forms, you must concentrate for 10 seconds. To speed this up, add Reduced Time (p. 108)." So if you want to go instant for this, wouldn't you need to have "Reduced Time 10 (+200%)"? Or am I missing something? I'm probably missing something and would love someone to point me to it. |
