Also, I'd say that the higher in status you go, the greater the individual variety of lifestyles.
Some ultra rich want more things, others more property, and others still more servants than whatever the "norm" may be.

Avoiding both nuance and reality ...

Given that Status can be just another way of saying Rank (Nominal Hierarchy; Dominance; Total Control) ...

And that the GM insists on incorporating the Rank (Chain of Command) element into Status without an additional point cost ...

Then according to the Span of Control, Status 7 has up to 50k subordinates and Status 8 has up to 200k subordinates.

This was my deduction at the beginning as well, but after a player reviewed the American budget it apparently doesn't fit the Status of the POTUS unless I'm missing something.

GURPS is not a simulation of the real world. It is designed to produce plausible, playable results, nothing more. You cannot pick a real person and expect them to fit exactly into GURPS's definitions.

Sunrunners_fire's givens are useful for illustrating the rules structures but are not illustrative of how the constitution and government work in reality.

Unfortunately, most GURPS books don't include such a table.
I do try when I remember...

Aside from the one in Banestorm and the similar table on p.148 of Discworld, Changing Times has a TL10 version on p.38, and Steampunk 1 has its version on its p.38... These things are kind of interesting to assemble, though honestly they're more like best guesses than an exact science.

Seems like a non-issue. If your player is POTUS in your campaign, give them what you think is appropriate, you are not bound by approximations in GURPS rules.

Rough guidelines like that fail in specific and extreme circumstances. Don't worry about it.
