Default Epic Munchkin Quest?

Does anyone know if there are any plans on making rules for Epic Munchkin Quest?

No, there are not. MQ goes too long already.

hehe... good to know. My timeslot for my demos at my FLGS are two hours. I hope I can make that work.

Strong suggestion: for MQ demos, start the players at Level 5.

Thanks for the suggestion. After reading many of the other threads, I might even start them with additional cards in their opening hand.

Yeah, my first MQ demo went five hours long -- it was crazy. So If I could make another suggestion or two, speaking from experience:

1. Yes, start them at Level 5 -- but also rule that you cannot drop below Level 5. That way no one gets knocked so far back that he can't easily catch up.

2. Start everyone with one less Move. (This is even suggested in the expansion rules.) It vastly speeds up everyone's turn.

3. Be sure to tell everyone that anyone who helps a Level 10 guy win automatically shares the victory as well. That way, instead of every boss fight turning into (e.g.) a 3-vs-1 battle, some become 2-on-2 battles, which makes it more likely for someone to eventually win. If you're giving out extra promos for the winners, state explicitly that shared victories mean both winners get a full bundle of promos; they don't have to split the bundle.

Agreed with the first two, disagree with this one. As written, the rules strongly imply that Level 9 and below players cannot participate in the Boss fight at all.

Hmm, I'm honestly not sure if I just misinterpreted the rules way back when I started playing or if this was a willful change I made . . . but I've been playing this way forever now, and I wouldn't go back. In my mind, it's like the Fast Play rules from regular Munchkin; it drastically speeds up the endgame, which (IME) is where MQ otherwise drags the most.

(OP, if you don't adopt this change, then still go out of your way to encourage level-10 munchkins to share victory, and offer each one a full set of whatever swag you're giving away for winning. Don't make anyone feel like a shared victory is less awesome than a solo one.)

I know that Munchkin Quest Spare Parts is out of print, but the rules can still be found and if you have a spare copy of the game with the extra tiles you can make a larger dungeon. In the case of spare parts it suggested playing to a higher level to get more dungeon explored. I'm guessing that would mean to play to a higher level and just not change the rules in anyway as you would for an Epic Munchkin game.

Just wondering as I was looking forward to trying to set up a larger dungeon game with two sets together.

There are no Epic rules for Munchkin Quest.
