Re: Kickstarter - Ogre Miniatures Set 1
Ah, I knew I smelled it, the instant I saw the reverse-colored sets for sale as add-ons: the subtle, delicious, intoxicating fragrance of utterly irrational completionism. :)

Let's not get irrational here . . .

Re: Kickstarter - Ogre Miniatures Set 1
I'" already thinking I need at least three sets. Because two MK IIIs attacking, four Howitzer defense, flexibility on defense against a MK V, need enough red and blue pices... Nevermind that this is completely irrational, because paint!
And I have some metals, but not enough. |

Re: Kickstarter - Ogre Miniatures Set 1
Honestly, that is the exciting thing about this project. Over 30 minis for $30?! (Over 40 if we hit all of the stretch goals!) Now people can really beef up their 3-D armies without spending a missile and a tread on them.

Re: Kickstarter - Ogre Miniatures Set 1
Just noticed this!
Gonna have to scrape together some cash, this is just too good to pass up. I'll prob get two, but right now the problem is time (work) and storage. It's also sort of a paradox: I really want some Combine units, but the only way to get them is through these guys. No other way to get to Set 2. I hope that at least there will be "Stretch Goal" commitments to more sets. And that there might be suuuuuurveys to see what to put in them. I note this set is similar to Deluxe Ogre, so maybe they'll simply re-create the old metal sets unit-mix? Might Drew and Phil share their minds with us in these regards, even if we promise not to hold them to anything? It might encourage others (I know it would me) to know that this isn't a one-shot affair, even if it's understood that future sets are (of course) contingent upon the success of this first one. |

Re: Kickstarter - Ogre Miniatures Set 1
To me, "Set 1" implies "Set 2". It might be contingent on the success of Set 1, but Set 2 sure seems like a possible future plan, just based on the name.
Of course, I get most of my exercise by jumping to conclusions....

Though, to be fair, we had "Scenario Book 1" stand in splendid isolation for a terrible long spell of years before the forthcoming "Scenario Book 2" was announced.
