Working on starting a In Nomine game, seeking advice
Ok the title says it all. In my TT game i will be starting a new In Nomine game, most of us have only played it a few times. I have ran a few one short story arcs(1-4 games sessions) but nothing long term. Same with half my players the other half have never played it.
At the moment i will be running a demon based game primarily set in Las Vegas. (good chance another person will be running a Angel based game set in the same location or nearby, where we will occasionally switch games) For the most part the problem I am having is coming up with idea's of tethers in or around Las Vegas. So any opinions or advice would be appreciated. Right now i am looking to create a list of potential tethers and locations and then decided which ones fit after consulting the guy that might run a angels side of it. Right here is a list of those I have in mind.(note anything within a reasonable distance of Vegas is ok, say a 4 hour drive roughly as a rule of thumb unless it is a really kick ass idea a bit further then hit me up anyways with it.) Hoover Dam - Tether to Archangel David(or Maybe Jean or a combo Tether) Convention Center - Friend recommended it for Marc Archangel of trade. Death Valley - Maybe Saminga(or at least a location in the valley maybe) Palomino's Strip Club - Demon Prince Andrealphus of course If I think of more I will edit this, thanks in advance to anyone that offers suggestions.

Not that I know if it matters to your game or not, but one of the books assigned Death Valley to Michael.

Re: Working on starting a In Nomine game, seeking advice
On another note I'd say that Mammon (sorry if I misspelled it but I don't have my books with me) should have at least one of the casinos.
if you add a few high profile deaths, Las Vegas Motor Speedway could be a good one for Saminga M&M's World: Haggati (again sorry if I misspelled it) Stratosphere Casino Hotel & Tower: Janus Pioche Mining Town: Saminga or Mammon Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area: David Lion Habitat at the MGM Grand: Depending on how you are going to run him in your game Jordi might take this. SPEED - The Ride located at the Sahara Hotel: Janus or Valefor Bellagio Gallery of Fine Art : Eli Desperado roller coaster: Janus Ethel M Chocolates Factory and Cactus Garden: Novalis Fantastic Indoor Swap Meet : Marc Flyaway Indoor Skydiving : Janus Houdini Museum at the Venetian : Janus Imperial Palace Auto Collection : Jean or Mammon Flamingo Health Spa: Novalis Lied Discovery Children’s Museum : Jean Neonopolis : Nybass Lots of ideas, Maybe some of them will work Last edited by alexondria; 07-13-2007 at 10:09 AM. Re: Working on starting a In Nomine game, seeking advice
Cool thanks and they will help even if I don't use them all.... well i couldn't use them all that would be a bit much on tethers :).
But I have never been to Vegas or the area and while I am reading about it I know very very little about the area. So this is what I was looking for, now I can look for more specific stuff to read about and decided which ones work best for the game. Thanks And no I wasn't aware Micheal was assigned Death Valley. You recall which book that was in or was it in the book of Tethers?

Ah on a side note, i had planned on having Mammon have a casino just hadn't decided which one yet. Was thinking about that after I made my post, seems rather obvious really in retrospect. Also don't worry about spelling, some of them are really hard to remember to spell and honestly I have no clue if you got them all right or not but I know who you mean so it's all good.

I think Death valley was in "Fall of the Malakim" but I'm not sure. Like I said I don't have my books with me right now.

You might want to look at this list of Tethers, though I don't know how complete it is, any more.
http://www.incyclopedia.org/tethers.html The Liber Castellorum should list all the Tethers known for any Superior up until its publication, I believe. |

Re: Working on starting a In Nomine game, seeking advice
Death Valley was assigned (and detailed) in FotM, if I recall correctly. (I'm typing fast -- kid wants attention.) However, it should get at least a mention in the Liber Castellorum (Book of Tethers); all Tethers to that date were included in the LiberC. I also, IIRC, tried to sucker people into detailing some of the one-line things from there, when expanding Tethers for Superiors stuff, after that.
Must run.

Re: Working on starting a In Nomine game, seeking advice
Yeah i looked at the list and I have order the tether book, suppose to arrive next week according to warehouse 23 email. But I figure there will be few if any near or end Vegas(the world is a big place). Most of the tethers I looked at on the list have little info including where they are.(course they might be generic place them where you want types) But I am hoping to use real world sites for tethers as much as I can, though I might use game tethers to flesh them out and just change the name to a real world location.

Re: Working on starting a In Nomine game, seeking advice
You can drop Tethers in for just about anyone, but some of my personal favorites are the non-obvious ones.
Look at thematic elements, and decide which Demon Princes (or Archangels) you want to feature. For example, given the plethora of massive buffet-style restaurants, Haagenti should have an extensive base of support. Perhaps Andrealphus would like to take in a show. Can't you just see Asmodeus smiling to see his sports-book operation running openly and smoothly? How about Kronos running a wedding chapel? (No word on whether Elvis would officiate... you're the GM, you make the call.) Does Valefor believe in giving a sucker an even break? |
