Default Limit to Fairy Dust cards

Is there a limit of the fairy dust cards we can hold in our hand?

I moved this post since it wasn't really related to the thread it was originally posted in.

And, the only limit is based on hand size: Fairy Dust cards count towards the number of cards in your hand and at the end of your turn, you must get down to the hand limit of 5 cards. At any other time during the game, you can have any number of cards in your hand.

there is fairy dust card which i received as a gift when i made an order which is called Fairy Dust-Up and it says: "Play at any time.shuffle the fairy dust discards back into the deck and deal one face-down fairy Dust card to every player.Yes,this may let some players have two fairy dust cards in their hand".
so i supposed that maybe there was a limit although it wasn't mentioned in the rules. Also is it possible to use this card when don't have any discards?

There are other threads that explain: that promo card was printed before the Fairy Dust rules were finalized.

Oh, if only that were true. The actual answer is "Andrew screwed up."

Just ignore the reference to Fairy Dust card limits on the promo card, please.

How could you? if there are no discards you can't shuffle the discards back into the deck. it would be like a wizard who has no cards in his hand saying I'm discarding my non-existant hand to charm a monster. There needs to be discards

It's a little different than the charm spell, in that a.) a minimum hand size is specified for the Charm Spell, and b.) the hand discard is what POWERS the ability, not part of the result of using it.

I could see this going either way, depending on whether the shuffling of the discards is seen as simply an explanation of the process prior to the actual effect of dealing out cards, in which case you ignore that step (and just shuffle the FD deck) if it isn't necessary, or whether it is seen as an important part of the intended effect of the card, in which case if you can't do it, then you can't play the card.

I agree that it sounds like an action to perform rather than a necessary part of the instructions. Shuffling zero cards into another set of cards is actually an action you can perform (as you change the order of the other cards), while it is impossible to discard zero cards.

while the wizard card does now specify a minimum amount of cards it didn't previously. in threads asking about that before the change the principle was given which is what I followed here.

i do however see your point. I'd personally still be inclined to say no which means the answer is probably yes!
