"Well, what timing. I've only just arrived."

As the taxi pulls up, she unfolds herself from the back, saying merely, "You've done well."

She walks quickly and confidently up to the door. If someone tries to stop her from going through, she'll introduce herself - "Ngeshtin-Ana, Lady of Whistling Winds, Mistress of Ice, diplomatic envoy from the world of Nyambi".

Once inside she'll speak to whoever looks appropriate - someone at a front desk, perhaps. "Greetings. I'm Ngeshtin-Ana, of the world Nyambi. I've just arrived to set up diplomatic relations, but before that I think you ought to direct me to someone who can discuss how I can help with the distressing Herazian situation I just learned about on my way here."

((OOC: Ward is not using a shape-shifted Avatar currently. He appears as a solid illusion of a mature Elf with a dignified bearing, Silver haired with pointed ears and violet eyes, it is an imitation of an ancient elven King, but dressed in a black, finely tailored contemporary earth suit. ))

We fed and soothed the Moon Worshipers. They were offered protection, and built a small village for them inside our borders. And now generations have passed, and the humans have been fruitful. They do not all Worship the Moon goddess, but we call them the Children of the Moon.

And because some King covets the corner of the Elf-lands we gave them for sanctuary, he suddenly wants to reunite with the people his great-grandfather chased out of his Kingdom and into ours... by moving the borders. And you are helping him do it!

Mr. Myers turns in recognition. His mind is quite sharp, and he might have a chance to keep her out in less than ideal circumstances. The first thought through his mind is one of a hunger for knowledge. He almost asks her what she knows about the Resplendians before it dawns on him that she isn't one of his staff and is at the very heart of CIA headquarters. His next response is caution. Without the mind reading, she wouldn't have known any of this from his face. He pretends he hasn't noticed anything off.

"Yes?" he says brusquely.

As she talks, he goes over lots of scenarios in his mind. Early on, he makes the decision to at least pretend to take her word at face value and play the part of the aided warrior.

The CIA is grasping at straws in desperation. They know lots of things about what Herazian's done, but very little about who he is, and they have no idea on how to hurt him. Right now data is being gathered (or attempted to be gathered). An army is assembling, in Canada, but the troops are being held back until the last possible moment. Mr. Myers knows other political things are going on, such as pressuring small nations to wait until the last moment to surrender, but he's not involved with that.

Baba Yaga can provide them with more information, and actually helpful stuff:

Respendians are the right name for his species... unless he's pretending, but his abilities make him seem fairly legit.
Not only is he posing as a resplendian, he's claiming to be a specific resplendian fond of brash actions.
Conventional weaponry won't effect him. Some mystical forces can, as well as one very specific substance. In the past it was bones of religious sacrifices (any religion). Its almost certainly something else now. (solid magic). Even then, he'll take a lot of damage first (50-100 hp) and heal quickly (Fast regeneration).
The timing of the threat at the autumn equinox is drama, and has nothing to do with with the source of his power or any magical ritual he might perform.
He does have to breathe, eat, and sleep, but the eating and sleeping can wait until the week is over without weakening him, and he can hold his breath for well over an hour.
He is quite resistant to mind control and transformative magic (+8 resistance)
He has keen but defeatable senses, some of which are supernatural. The exact supernatural senses are related to the item that can hurt him.
He actually cannot be killed but will leave this world if defeated and be unable to return for a long time (unkillable 3 with long reformation time and longer period when unable to enter world of 'death').
She is unfortunately not as knowledgeable about the capabilities of the warp, though it is very fast and he is adept in its use.

As they are talking, someone says something about an elf at the UN claiming he can take Herazian out.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Did the elves build those lands? Did they sweat and toil over them? And have they really provided protection over the centuries since then? Or will you hide behind a precedent 20 generations old that none of them really understand and you have to use magic to enforce!"

Ward would answer, but another off-worlder comes in...

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The guards balk at letting Ngesh in at first, but some minor displays of magic are more than enough to convince them to escort her into the meeting, and with a few runners in between, she is directed to the meeting about Herazian.

When she enters, a tall elf is saying something about an invasion on a different world... She's not quite sure how it has to do with the task at hand. She is announced with her proper title, and the words "She says she's here to help with the Herazian situation."

The delegates appear quite willing to leave the Elf's debate alone and focus their attention on the new comer.

A short, brown skinned man looked her up and down, then gestures to the elf "This man claims he can take on Herazian himself, but is demanding large concessions before he is willing to do so. Do you have anything to say about his offer?"

"I could see an experienced elf being at least a close match to Herazian. I wouldn't put my money on him or her though without some extra help." Baba Yaga will continue to talk shop with him for a while. After that's wind down she'll suggest she heads over to the U.N. real quick like to talk with this elf. Try and get a feel for him. Meanwhile he can maybe try thinking up ways of testing what Herazian's one very specific thing he is weak to now is. At least he knows it's likely related to either bones or religion in some way.

Edit: OOC
To be clear I plan to leave my Mind Reading on and scanning Mr. Meyers thoughts after I head towards the U.N. I'll probably maintain the link until such time as I feel the need to use my Illusion abilities.

Ngeshtin-Ana glances over at Ward. "I know naught of this man, but I would gladly accept aid in dealing with Herazian. I know nothing of the concessions he's demanding, but they must be large indeed if you'd prefer Herazian. Unless you have other options? Who else might I be working with?"

"The Elves have lived in those lands since before humans existed in our world, and cultivated the forests from nut and berry. And the Elves did build the original village alongside the Moon Worshipers. I know humans breed quickly, but I do not think that they could have had more than 6 or 7 generations in the last one hundred years. The Elves will indeed use sword, bow and spell to protect their domain if negotiation fails...

Ngeshtin-Ana, welcome. I am simply asking they cease their invasions of my homeland, nothing more."

Before Baba Yaga has left the building, the idea of surrounding missiles with bones to create shrapnel has already gone through the man's mind...

She hurries off the the UN

-----------------------------------------------

Delegate: "The elves have been holding thousands of humans in virtual slavery. They rebelled, and asked us for help. We found it a worthy cause, as these are our own people, and 3 fifths of them are now free. He demands that for help against this terrorist we completely foreswear his world!"

Chinese Delegate: "You would be working with the world. The militaries still haven't figured out a way to touch him."

"So you're saying that my help so far is a bunch of militaries who have already proven themselves useless, and this elf, who won't help because you consider two-fifths of 'thousands' to be more important than this entire world? Wonderful."

She turns to Ward. "Is there anything I can offer for your help? I'd rather not have to handle him alone. And, to be clear, would you accept a withdrawal of all humans from your world, including these slaves?"

"I have made no demands, I simply asked a question. You are attempting to categorize my statements inappropriately, as well as the situation on my world. The embedding of fallacy in your argument's foundation may soothe your constituency, but it is not productive to our discussion."

Ward then ties the abrasive delegate's shoelaces together with Telekinesis.

"Let us be clear. My people do not keep slaves. The delegate is using exaggeration and hyperbole to manipulate the discussion. While I personally am delighted with the hypothetical notion of removal of the humans, it would not please my people or be good for our world in the long run. Nor is it practical. We are hoping to live in peace with our neighbors, not eliminate them.

My concern is for my people. From my perspective, Herazian's rule may even be preferable to mortal self governance here.

I do not know you or what you could offer to my people to motivate me to assist the patrons of our enemies.

How can this world expect my protection while continuing to attack mine? Thier interference in other worlds is likely what drew Herazian here. Asking for my assistance now is akin to asking a man to put out the fire on your own home that you accidentally set ablaze while lighting that neighbors house on fire. Is it so much to ask them to stop setting torch to thatch on our home in exchange?"

"That's... quite the analogy." Ana turns back to the assembly. "Perhaps you could arrange to keep in touch with me if any of you are interested in providing - and able to provide - any actual assistance. I don't really need to be here while you bicker about a world I've never even visited with someone who apparently has no objection to the person I'm trying to deal with."

She stands. "If there's nothing else...?"
