Default Discard your hand?

was wondering if a player dies must he discard his hand then?
I know that everyone can loot your body starting with the highest leveled player.
and he keeps his race and class cards, but does he also have to discard his hand?

Yes, the rules for Looting the Body are as follows:

So players can take one card each from those cards that were in your hand and in play (except your current Race, Class and Curses), and then you discard all the cards that they didn't take, which includes any leftovers from your hand.
