[GAME] 2018 Superpowered Alphabetical Brainstorm, WW2 Edition.
It's been a while since the last iteration of this game. Here and Here are two of the more recent ones.
The premise is simple, make up a super hero or villain whose name starts with the next letter of the alphabet, don't get too worried if someone beats you to the punch and grabs a letter you where hoping for just put your idea up too. The theme/setting this time is World War 2, who knows this may even make a good history for the next version of this game. Bonus points for incorporating other people's entries and providing three powers (or applications of a single power) in each entry.

A is for Atomkrieger
An allied operation named "Cape" sought to sabotage the German atomic bomb project. The group responsible for what is now known as the "Osnabrück incident" included British spies, an American physicist as well as Canadian and French support personnel. They struck when key people and equipment were stationed at Osnabrück in what is reputed to be the most haunted place in Germany. The operation didn't go off flawlessly, a chaotic firefight ensued. Something happened during this battle that caused a hand full of people to manifest superhuman abilities. One of these people was the elderly german staff physician for the atomic bomb project, he discovered that his biology now produced a compound that when introduced to another person might cause that person to develop superhuman abilities fueled by exposure to radioactive material. These people were designated Atomkrieger. Powers - Enhanced physical capabilities, somewhat variable. - a percentage developed the ability to transform radiation into another form of energy and direct the resulting new energy. Electricity and heat are by far the most common types. - Equipped with the most advanced technology available, much of which is bespoke. Weaknesses - Some Atomkrieger dislike the presence of lead. - Not all are immune to the effects of the radiation that fuels their abilities. - Atomkrieger creation techniques are still largely unknown science, the results are unpredictable.

B is for Bombardier
One of the Canadian support troops for Operation Cape, one Lt. John McDonough, was exposed to a mutagenic substance during the closing firefight. He later developed the ability to fly and to drop explosive energy "bombs" on targets below him. Royal Canadian Air Force researchers are working on developing a portable bombsight that Bombardier can carry on missions. Powers - Flight - Projection of "balls" of explosive force, which release their energy on contact with any physical object Weaknesses - Needs an oxygen supply when flying at high speed and/or high altitude - Has no special ability of aim with his "bombs" - he can hurl them like grenades, or drop them like bombs, but they fly/fall in the same fashion as grenades as well (hence the desire for a portable bombsight)

C is for Captain Jones
A British intelligence agent, who was probably not a captain and almost certainly not named Jones. Normally of unassuming appearanace, he could become invisible to human and animal sight - though not to other senses, and not to cameras - for short periods of time. He could see clearly in the dark - not infrared, but full color vision if there was even a scrap of light - and his one item of "super" equipment was a button that unscrewed to reveal a bit of radium paint. He was a lightning calculator and had full eidetic memory; he spoke many languages with colloquial ease. Last edited by Steve Jackson; 02-12-2018 at 08:00 PM. |

D is for Daedalus
Emigrated to the British Isles from Sicily, Daedalus is a genius inventor and tinkerer that's been a boon to the British war effort, inventing everything from radar to proximity fuses to cryptography-cracking machines. Oddly, though, he refuses to consider working on RAF aircraft. The Spitfire is really all R. J. Mitchell's, and while the British are doing quite well with their jet engine program, they probably won't catch the Germans without Daedalus' help. |
