For Set 3 & 4 I would like to see NAC sculpts of Sets 1 & 2. For cybertanks between those sets MK I, II, and maybe III-B. A Stuttgart Huscarl with no tower and a different body look would be fun. I don't really care about the Ninja.

For Set 5: Missle Crawler, Mobile Command Post, HVY Weapons Infantry, LADs, a Train, Hovertrucks and Trucks, and maybe the Dopp and Mk VI. The train is a feature of the Train scenarios and is not an easy thing to proxy or scratch build. Most all of these could at a pinch be molded in single sculpts and serve for both sides.

I don't feel a huge need for Vulcans, Ninjas, Buildings, etc. Buildings can be relatively easily scratch built. Vulcans and Ninjas are special use Ogres.

Oh, and a set of Infantry! Just a bag of Infantry, HVY Weapons, and Infantry bases. GEV-PCs optional. I love Infantry.

Faction sculpts vs. more unsculpted units

The big question is; Are these sets aimed at new players, or existing players?

If new, different units in the current colors will likely be more successful.
If legacy, make faction sculpts.

I prefer new units.

I'm afraid I'm not following you here . . . what do you prefer? Unreleased units for the PE faction such as Missile Crawler? Or new sculpts of released units (Combine GEVs, Heavy Tanks, etc.)? Just trying to make sure I understand your preference!

Sorry, that I was unclear.
I was asking for units not yet in plastic, i.e. light tanks, laser towers, etc. not two different types of howitzers, missile tanks, or whatever. The different colors is enough definition between factions. If, after we have most every base unit printed, and demand is still high, then go ahead print the factional different pieces.

I'd say the exact opposite. I'd rather have the most basic units available for both sides, then maybe some 'oddball' sets can be made down the road perhaps.

The projects need to be economically viable, too. And we have seen the less popular vehicles in Set 2 were a factor in a significant drop off in backing, though it still did well. How much will that drop be when we are producing set 5 of PanEuropean stuff even some Ogre die hards will not have heard of, let alone game with?

And I am sure the number of molds to be designed and made for a given set are a factor, too. Some of these wishlists on here would take a lot of tooling, to make stuff that is not likely to sell very well.

Ogres I, II, and others not yet released.

PE models not yet released, Mobile CP, Trucks, etc.

Lots more Infantry varieties and in numbers and bases for small change!

Each successive campaign beyond the basics will be a harder and harder sell. The only reason I ordered more of the Set #2 minis was the fact that they were offered that way at a bargain rate. Initially I was going to only order one half of the amount that I had ordered of Set #1.

Set #3 will be similar, unless it too is a huge bargain, and same for Set #4. I can't see many folks needing more than one or two boxes each of these potential Sets #5 and beyond -- so it would make sense to focus on the core units, then see what's left to do.

As an example. I can find trucks, hovertrucks, heavy weapons teams, laser turrets (and thus towers), and buildings now from other vendors. I can't get actual NAC vehicle sculpts that I know and enjoy.

I've been doing a lot of thinking. While I stand by what I'd like to see, I am also not absolutely married to the exact release pattern I outlined. Since Set 2 is going to come with a full rulebook, perhaps SJ Games should finish up the Paneuro forces before moving on.

With that in mind, here's an alternate path:

Set 3: Paneuro "Rare" Units
Red Plastic:
2x Ogre Mk I and 1x Ogre Mk II
1x Ogre Mk III-B
Blue Plastic:
2x Laser Turrets and 1x Laser Tower
2x Missile Crawlers with removable missiles and 2x extra "flying" missiles
4x Hovertrucks and 6x Trucks
6x INF with 6x Heavy Weapons and 6x "2-squad" bases (or more)
1x Mobile Command Post + 4x Light Artillery Drones

Set 4: Combine "Basic" Units
Red Plastic:
42x INF in 3 different poses with 14 bases
8x GEVs
8x Heavy Tanks
6x Missile Tanks
4x Howitzers
1x Command Post
Blue Plastic:
1x Ogre Mk III
1x Ogre Mk V (perhaps with a new supplemental sprue for a towerless variant)

Set 5: Combine "Advanced" Units
Red Plastic:
12x Light GEVs
12x Light Tanks
6x GEV-PCs with 18x INF
6x Superheavy Tanks
4x Mobile Howitzers
1x Ogre Mk VI
Blue Plastic:
1x Doppelsoldner

Set 6: Combine "Rare" Units
Red Plastic:
2x Laser Turrets and 1x Laser Tower
2x Missile Crawlers with removable missiles and 2x extra "flying" missiles
4x Hovertrucks and 6x Trucks
6x INF with 6x Heavy Weapons and 6x "2-squad" bases (or more)
1x Mobile Command Post + 4x Light Artillery Drones
1x Ogre Ninja with 2x modified LGEV drones
1x Ogre Vulcan with 2x modified Heavy Tank drones

This would make Set 7 a bunch of buildings and Militia, Set 8 would be new cybertanks and other units, and Set 9 - if we got that far - could be Ogrethulhu. Yes, I'd repeat the Ogre Mk III and Mk V, but they ARE the most common cybertanks of the Last War. Even if someone is limiting themselves to one of each set, they can use extras of those two Ogres, especially in Paneuro Blue.

...also, and this is a bit off-topic, but can you imagine ten years down the line, when Ogre is 50? I'm thinking of an Ogre Doomsday Edition! Like the Designer Edition, but packed with plastic minis instead of cardboard counters, and acting like a one-stop, all-in Ogre experience.
