OK here we go

I PM'd Kromm the following:

Hi got a poster who's started a thread here:

(thread link)

They're asking about either adding in Kusari skill into some preexisting Martial Arts Styles or swapping out Whip for it.

Now they're thinking in terms of official errata, but do you fancy giving the thread a looksee and giving your opinion on it?

and he responded:

Perhaps the most salient point is that since most schools that use these things are teaching Combat Art skills, the weapon is almost secondary . . . Whip Art, Kusari Art, Whatever Art: It's all waving around something whipping in a way that looks good.
Sorry there's probably some cunning way to link directly to PM's but I've got no clue!

Nope. PMs are Private messages for a reason.

However you could wrap Kromm's text in Quote tags to offset it visually from yours a little more distinctly.

Chain whips probably ought to be usable with whip though. The real life things can mostly be used like a whip.

I actually learned a lot of Kusari Sport usable moves from a whip master last year, but that might be Skill Adaptation or something in GURPS terms.

Yeah I think Weapon Adaption between Whip and Kusari (and vice versa) is very appropriate for a few of these weapons
