Visualization and Luck
Out of combat, is Visualization useful if you have regular Luck? If so, how? Cause I figure I can change the dice rolls with Luck rather than getting a bonus due to Visualization.

You can use Visualization much more often.

Re: Visualization and Luck
It depends on what you want it for.
Luck as pointed out is limited by how often you can use it. Also it really is best for re-rolling critical failures or a really bad die roll. Visualization on the other hand can be used as often as you like though the circumstances have to be specific and that bonus on an already decent skill increases your odds of critical success. |

Re: Visualization and Luck
I tend to think of it as "The Force." Very useful in certain circumstances, but not usually combat -- though one of the newer books has a mod for using it in combat, IIRC.

Aspected Luck and you can be a Very Good Gambler of course that may lead to you being killed as a cheater...and Aspected Luck won't help you dealing with the consequences of your unnatural abilities...

Re: Visualization and Luck
For that Luck is probably better.
It will be handy when things go wrong. Most of the games you are involved in wont be set up well enough that Visualization will apply. You need a lot of predictability for that advantage to work. Depending on the game Lightning Calculator may be handy for helping you figure odds quickly or card counting. |

Re: Visualization and Luck
Visualization is fairly good if the GM lets you fully trick it out. Lots of reduced time from basic set. If you have Powers also add the reliability enhancement. Otherwise it only really works if you have spare time to use it. Which for things like inventing, crafting, making tactical plans ect. means you can pick up a +1 or +2 on average. Fairly decent for a ten point power.

Boost for Remembering...Cards through the shoe, people you have gambled with before and their tendancies and tells, people, places, and details that are important... For example I would think a lot of the Secret Service (for whom remembering faces is VERY important) probably have at least the first level 5 pt version of Eidetic... But for a Gambler living on the margins REMEMBERING important facts is the first step before EXPLOITING the information!!

Re: Visualization and Luck
True, but my IQ is only going to be 14. So, more often than not, I won't get a HUGE bonus. Which means I'm really only going to use Visualization and Luck in conjunction. That's why I think it'd be obsolete to have Visualization.
