Kiai - Attack or Concentrate?
Kiai counts as an attack, but is it an Attack maneuver or a Concentrate maneuver?
If it is an Attack, can it be Committed? All Out? Move-and? |

And with a Committed/All Out/Move And with all the normal restrictions. Martial Arts has some notes on how those work with non-damaging contest-type attacks, normally for wrestling but they'd work here too.

Re: Kiai - Attack or Concentrate?
Yes, Kiai is an attack, and can be used at part of any Attack Maneuver. Note that as a HT-based attack, it cannot use options that modify DX rolls (like AoA: Determined).

Re: Kiai - Attack or Concentrate?
Why? I don't recall the rule for AoA:Determined saying it gives a bonus to DX-based attack rolls, just attack rolls period.

Re-reading the options in Martial Arts, there's nothing there that I'm seeing particularly applicable to Kiai either.

Re: Kiai - Attack or Concentrate?
If Kiai is an attack, then can I discharge my Kiai as a Defensive Attack and get +1 to my Block?
Personally, I think Kiai should have been defined as concentration, not attack, like Malediction.

Re: Kiai - Attack or Concentrate?
A defensive Kiai would also give the target +1 to resist (as for other none-damaging attacks)

Re: Kiai - Attack or Concentrate?
The book says that Kiai is an attack.
If that's right, can you use it as a part of a Rapid Strike? |

Re: Kiai - Attack or Concentrate?
I suspect that's why it's an attack :J
