Don't forget there love/obsession for cucumbers! Also, I believe asking a kappa a question was standard practice once he was powerless, so Cannot Speak would be out of the question.

I really love these folklore monsters :) Redcaps are another fun one. Dwarves that dip their hats in blood of their victims and if it ever dries out they die so they have to constantly have victims.

Hellboy presented Kappa as being paralyzed first, but still retaining powers of speech... but continuing to dry out further until it was also unable to talk.
