Re: Killing Superman [Powers]
I see a major problem with Cosmic. In many cases it seems to be world breaking if not rule breaking.
Yes it has a high point tag but it does feel like the power gamer "I'm unstoppable". I like Supers to be able to be shot up by mooks. Even the powerful 1,000pts guys. If there is no challenge except the battle between demigods then it's a bit pointless. Even if one kills all the other's loved ones, eventually they will run out of loved ones to be killed. |

Re: Killing Superman [Powers]
Even if you can't negate cosmic advantages with non-cosmic afflictions, you could still stop them by doing other stuff like attribute penaltes as pointed out earlier.
"Attributes as Abilities" requires you to make the attributes temporary somehow. So even if you had an IQ+10 (Cosmic+50%) to supplement your baseline IQ in case you fail a save against a mortal's IQ-10 Affliction, P13 requires something like "Costs Fatigue" on it... So if you ALWAYS wanted that IQ+10 on, you'd have to constantly be spending FP to keep it active. Which might require tapping into the FP of worshippers, or using up your "Regeneration (FP)" income which you'd rather be using on other stuff. Of course... rather than ALWAYS keeping it on (because you couldn't choose to turn it on at IQ 0... it's too late then) you could buy "Reflexive" on your IQ w/ Costs Fatigue so that it turns on by itself in an emergency without your input, which is absolutely necessary if you're dropped to IQ 0 and no longer Sentient. |
