I'm curious if there's a market for Car Wars' novels.

Probably more of a market for "Car Wars"-ish novels. More generic rather than using SJG specific.

Ya, agreed. I was just thinking this before I opened the thread.

And for me, it would still need to be a good story. Cars and guns and dangerous highways are a great setting, but that alone isn't enough to be something worth reading.

I think The Road was so successful because McCarthy toned down the specific setting elements and allowed each reader/viewer to create their own background details, which of course makes the story amazing in our minds. Same with Mad Max. The less I know about the details of the world the better, because the greater the detail the greater the chances someone will disagree or dislike.

That being said, and completely contradicting myself, I've always wanted to see a story developed purely from gameplay. The main character crashes their car and dies, oh well, new main character. :)

One of the complaints from one of the groups I did CW with was the continued expansion of weapons and the environment as a whole. One of the great things about a great story is exploring the environment. But it's like the various articles in ADQ and the Road Atlases seemed to leave little to imagination, or seemed to essentially define everything. From that perspective it does seem that the classic CW-verse is a touch crowded.

That was my favorite, and I believe the most pertinent Car Wars quote in the story.
