It describes itself as "gaslamp fantasy." Think highly cinematic and slightly silly steampunk setting where weird science rules.

It's written by Phil Folio, who's been a comic and RPG game illustrator for decades. (He did the illustrations for GURPS 3E IOU.) If you know and like his work you'll probably like GG.

Plus there’s the wild card that any or all of us could be knocked on our keister for a couple of weeks by a pandemic.

As a generic rule, we don’t announce release dates until we’re very confident that we can hit them — for physical products, that almost always means that it has gone to the printer and we’ve gotten their estimate for how long manufacturing will take, and for digital products, that means we’ve got the thing staged or close enough to it that we’re confident in our upload strategy. We would much rather disappoint people by providing too little information than by providing BAD information.

Agreed. I didn't say it was bad thing.

It seems an obvious candidate for a Kickstarter.

Thanks for the answer. Doesn't sound like a must-buy for me - I never end up playing licensed settings - but I'll of course keep an ear open to what people say about the finished product. Who knows, maybe it'll trigger a failed roll to resist Compulsive GURPS Book Buying (15).

You could also read the Web Comic on which the license is based: Link to First Comic
It started in November 2002 so there is a fair bit to keep you occupied until its released!

Kromm is a hack, he's been plagiarizing Sean Punch for years.
