Default Superhero base during WW2

I’m trying to plan out what sort of rooms or workspaces you might find in a superhero team’s base during WW2.
The details:
  • It’s in NYC, and has (disguised) harbor access
  • It’s in the 1940s during WW2
  • The heroes range from super-normal to supernatural
  • There are less than a dozen personnel, including
  • They are funded by the US military as a covert black ops/super-soldier team

Here’s what I’ve got so far
  • Personal quarters
  • Dining room, kitchen, pantry
  • Lab
  • Workshop
  • Vehicle pool
  • Armory
  • Library

What am I missing?

A workout area

Most importantly of all, that room where they sit around a table and pretend King Arthur is a member.

A conference room with a big table... unless you want the dining room to do double duty.

Definitely need a briefing room / meeting area with one of those big fancy tables and a bunch of chairs.

EDIT: David Johnston and Naloth both beat me to it.

Also, if you have some time to kill and the right books, consider using the Buildings rules from Pyramid 3/34 to build the base as an immobile, driveless 'spaceship'. It's probably mostly a time-waster in this case but it can be entertaining and you might come up with some additional ideas looking over habitat and open area options and other component types.

A holding cell, panic room, or vault would be nice as well. You never know when you'll need to store something, protect someone, or hold them for interrogation.

Does the vehicle pool include a boat or submarine dock? (I'm thinking a base under or around Coney Island.)

And you'll also want an private archive separate from the library for case files of folks they've fought. Maybe even a trophy room/museum of friends, foes, and past members. The library and trophy room/museum could be open to the public - similar to how the old Avengers Mansion had a public entryway and the Fantastic Four have Roberta, the robot receptionist, handling those wanting to visit the team - and the archive behind lock and key.

The supernaturals will need their own workrooms if they have different traditions (let's say you have a daughter of Zeus, a lama with mental powers, and a full court wizard trained by Merlin) each will need their own workspace/temple/meditation chamber.

Given it's the early 1940s, life is both much more and much less secular. You'll need a chapel.

A conference room.

A rec room where the radio and newspapers (both of which will be wanted) are kept with comfortable chairs. This is where they'll relax, catch up with the news, and talk to each other.

There should also be a means of getting back and forth to a secure medical facility.

A radio room, for the transmitters, receivers, code machines, and so on. This would also have a phone switchboard, telegraph and teleprinter equipment. 1940s radio technology could be pretty effective, but was bulky, power-hungry and needed a lot of maintenance.

If they are going to be involved in the war efforts they'd likely have a Map Room too, to track war progress on all fronts and collect all war news.

They'd probably have an Infirmary set up, to help with healing after the inevitable fights.

They'll also probably have a Generator room, so they won't lose power if the power grid goes down. This may be combined with a Boiler Room with a Boiler Furnace to heat the place. Good for steam explosions and fuel fires if the bad guys infiltrate.

They may have an Air Raid Shelter; essentially the same as a Fallout Shelter in the 50's and later. Just a place to go underground that protects you from a direct attack.

A greenhouse and hedge maze are always appropriate on large campuses, especially if the place is set up like a mansion and not a fortress.

A Conference Room, Radio Room, Prison, and Vault were already mentioned.

Given that it's World War II, their own quarters seem like a good enough place to heal up unless they have some super-science healing equipment.
