Re: First thoughts on D&D 4th edition
Does any one acturally plan to play D&D 4e?

That said, I've looked through the books and...seems like it might be fun. I'd play in a 4e game. I still prefer GURPS, but I'd play 4e. I think I might be interested in reviving that idea I had back in the day (that I did start, but not for long). Running GURPS Cyberpunk where virtual reality is a fantasy world using the D&D system. I think I'd try it out using 4e. |

That said, 3.x did fix some things, but 4.0 moves the bar even farther into the "1st level people are heroes" department. Now, will I play 4.0? I know our 3.0 campaign is going to continue as-is for the forseeable future, so I don't think that's going to change. I've been starting to pull together what I can to get a GURPS: Traveller campaign together (thanks, Ed). However, I think I can fit in some 4.0 stuff here and there, and maybe it'll actually grow on me. If I think of it as something completely separate from older versions of D&D, I'll probably be more accepting of it. --Mike L. |
