Re: striking/lifting ST and weapons
This should be pretty obvious since many crew served weapons are man portable. I carried the M253 mortar cannon (for the M252 81mm mortar system) more times then I care to remember, but it would be physically impossible for me to hold a weapon which drives itself up to a half meter into the ground when fired.

Re: striking/lifting ST and weapons
64 kN is orders of magnitude greater than anything remotely human (average human is more like 640 N). The required ST would probably be around ST 100.

I probably should have put quotes around 'only' or something.

Re: striking/lifting ST and weapons
IMO the MinST for melee weapons which represents keeping control of a melee weapon as you move it about as part of attacking and defending in melee is different enough from what the MinST for firing guns or drawing bows represents, to not crossover. Especially as Lifting ST and Striking ST are specialisms that are themselves based off the same root stat ST. So barring extreme differentiation between the two (that itself infers an extreme situation and thus a a very particular one) they are pretty similar in terms of value anyway.
