Splatbook/Gregor in Munchkin Bites

I just realized something tonight as I was playing Munchkin Bites, and I thought I'd point it out. The only time you can ever get the extra level from the Splatbook by killing Gregor is if the player to your left has the item, not you. You fight Gregor with the items of the player to your left. I was rather disappointed with that, as I had the Splatbook and picked a fight with Gregor. That just made me kinda sad.
