Default Apocalypse Sheep Impact Singularity in Combat

What happens if a player is in combat when a monster enhancer causes a seal to opened, and it's the singularity?

Are the monsters "in play"? (Presumably not)
If the monsters are discarded, how does the turn order proceed?
If the monsters are still in the fight, does play just resume after the singularity is resolved leaving you to fight with one-shots/monster enhancers/no weapons (can't equip in combat)?

As a general rule, all of the cards on the table are "in play". That would include monsters.

Yep, this one. It's a nasty, nasty Seal.
