Re: Invisible Helmets and Shots to the Eye
I'd paint the helmet so it doesn't look invisible, just a mainly open face look so it doesn't block vision. That means they don't resort to invisible helmet tactics against you for a couple rounds at least.

This is just turning into designing a fantasy motorcycle helmet

Re: Invisible Helmets and Shots to the Eye
I was trying to think of what a fantasy motorcycle is but I realize it's a riding-velociraptor

Re: Invisible Helmets and Shots to the Eye
Not to be overused since it cripples entire professions.

Re: Invisible Helmets and Shots to the Eye
Painting the face plate means you no longer get out of No Peripheral Vision, though.
On the topic of NMZ, I feel like the important thing is managing expectations. They don’t cripple your wizard or bard any worse than social situations cripple the swashbuckler, but it’d be really mean to pull a «*surprise, half encounters are social*» on the swash. If you make it clear in advance of picking professions that 20% or dungeon floors will be NMZs and 20% will be low-Mana, it’s cool with me: I’ll make sure my wizard has other tricks, or play something else. Having just played a wizard for three years (a little past 500 points), I can assure you the wizard can survive a huge nerf.

Re: Invisible Helmets and Shots to the Eye
To that, unexpected surprises are fun and I like to telegraph new enemies and situations by springing the change in a situation where the PCs are very likely to succeed or escape in one way or another. It gives them a chance to learn the new thing before I toss them into the situation without guardrails.

That said, since you can enchant 50lbs at once you could hypothetically enchant 50/0.6 to 50/4 * (GF Adventurers p.108 "Full Face" weights) of them at once say soldered with a tiny amount of same material connecting (like one of those metal sets then clip loose). * (83-12), or 120$ - 800$ each |
