Even there are quite a few plants and even some animals with unusual resistance to it. Most notably, to me, milipedes which emit hydrogen cyanide as a defense.
Cyanide will otherwise kill anything with "generic" mitochondria.

"Make a perception check", when your characters are just walking around in a safe place would always scare me. Even worse is after peering at thier notes, they say, "Okay, nobody notices anything amiss."

Players: "Ya, best 1 point ever!", "Obviously, after last time we all got it."
GM: "Did anyone actually buy first aid supplies..."
Players: "Oh... right"
GM: "Roll First Aid at -5"

Also a good one: "So, who's holding the torch?"

Even the one or two people who made the roll were about to pass out.

My friend Nate ran a game for our friend Dave. The nopes began and didn't end when Dave struck a demon with an axe. "You make a gash in the beast, it starts bleeding raw sewage."
