Sounds about right to me also. I sold some magazines awhile back and was surprised I couldn't ship them media mail. Which is the cheapest rate. For some reason USPS doesn't treat magazines in the same catagory as books. Net result, didn't make a dime selling them.

Get an apprentice for the not-quite-a-wizard who does have a ten point powerstone. Send the apprentice down the street to the Wizard's Guild for a 50 point Aid spell casting ($10 to hire 8 apprentices for an hour and then $50 for the ST) to recharge his own 10 point powerstone that he brings back to keep the mana flowing.

Just got my PDF of Hexagram and while I like the content so far, I have to say I hate the layout orientation. I think I get what you're going for but the paper shape is a distraction. I'd much rather have a normal digest page layout and fewer of them if needed.

Re: Hexagram #1, an Old-School RPG Zine for The Fantasy Trip
The postcard dungeons are cool. In theory you could do one-page dungeons each issue. Or even have a two-page "dungeon-of-the-month centerfold", which occupies the plum spot of the center pages. And of course you could continue the postcard dungeons themselves, as long as they remain cost effective to print.
Naturally, this is all predicated on there being more Hexagram issues. ^_^ |

Re: Hexagram #1, an Old-School RPG Zine for The Fantasy Trip
I'm stoked to see issue #1! Hopefully the first of many. I'm a hard-copy sort of person so I'll probably wait till the print version shows up to pore over every page. But I did a 'deep skim' this morning and am very excited and encouraged by the indications that you're gearing up to do a major project on cards. There is nothing I love more in a game than material you can use at the table, and TFT is such a distinctive merging of board game and roleplaying game concepts that it feels like there are endless opportunities for clever ideas of this sort. The things I find most interesting:
The dungeon tiles More and more diverse MH tiles of the sort we'll get in the Legacy edition set The NPC cards The idea that adding a second card makes a standard NPC fully fleshed out I'm less interested in the cards that reproduce rules; I'm not convinced they will be more useful than the GM's screen (though perhaps noobs will really appreciate them in combat). Something you haven't shown that I would love to see happen is an exterior space/wilderness version of the dungeon tiles idea. This would be particularly interesting if you did it at a somewhat coarser scale than 1 MH per hex, to fit the scales of exploration. |

I don't know if it's too late for editorial input/comment, but if it isn't, on page 19, the word "commiserate" is used when the word that is clearly intended is "commensurate." (Right hand column, third paragraph, fifth word from the end of the paragraph.)
