Default Published Ogre

Hi everyone!

In addition to all the other Ogre tasks, I'm trying to put together as complete a list as I can of publications with something related to Ogre within their pages. Obviously there are the many articles in the Space Gamer, and a few in Pyramid. I know of at least a half dozen others, but I wanted to put this out to Ogre fans everywhere - where and when has Ogre graced the pages of a magazine?

I'm looking for anything published pertaining to Ogre - reviews, strategy articles, scenarios (love those!), variants, etc. If someone published it and it relates to Ogre in any way, let me know. My goal is to have one consolidated listing, to facilitate players reading about Ogre as they will.

To begin, please feel free to review the current Ogre bibliography as listed here on the website.

How obscure can we get? I'd love to know if anyone has something that I've not uncovered on my own. I'll fess up if you surprise me! But I do have some unusual ones!

D.

There is a pretty extensive list on Wikipedia.

And Board Game Geek.

The cover of Yaah magazine #4, by Flying Pig Games, has a picture of ODE on the cover and the text says there's an interview with SJ. I have not purchased this, so I can neither confirm nor deny that, Senator...uh, I mean forum dwellers.

This is one of my more obscure ones. Nice catch!

It has an interview with SJ, a retrospective on Ogre, and (oh, so wonderful!) a series of four linked scenarios! Both a hardcopy may be bought from Flying Pig Games and a pdf on the Wargame Vault.

One of my favorites . . .

(I probably just raised the sales of THAT issue! <grin> )

Here are a few I was able to pull out of my collection:

"The Ultimate G.E.V. Scenario Generator" by Duke Rittenhouse. Vindicator fanzine, Vol. II, No. 5, 1999.
The title describes it fairly well.

"Official Ogre/G.E.V. Product List" in Vindicator fanzine, Vol. II, No. 5, 1999.
This is a copy of the Ogre ludography that was available at that time and credits the SJGames website as the source.

"Ogre Article Bibliography" in Vindicator fanzine, Vol. II, No. 5, 1999.
This is a copy of the article bibliography that was available at that time and credits the SJGames website as the source.

"Vertical Take-Off Landing Units for Ogre/G.E.V." by Stephen Beal. Countermoves fanzine, Vol. 1, Issue 2, 2002.
Variant article adding helicopters to the game.

Here is one that is slightly off topic, but I might as well add it in:

"Adding G.E.V.'s to Battlesuit" by Ron Shirtz. Vindicator fanzine, August-September 1998.
Again, the title describes the article pretty succinctly.

Here is a link to a previous post of mine with links to the Vindicator articles.

Congrats! This is one that I didn't have on my list. It is now one article better!

THAT I can help with, having researched it myself. There is a list of the available issues here, and best of all they're free!
