I went to put it in my cart, but it was going to charge me a 5 USD shipping fee -- for PDFs!?! If it's PDFs, why charge S&H at all? Is that a goof on the website? The PDFs, once purchased, should be available for DL immediately (through Warehouse23, I assume). Who do I talk to about that mysterious S&H charge?

EDIT: I went ahead and shot an email to BackerKit directly about the problem. Standing by...

Hey there,

Good question.

In this case, anything that was a pre-order was being charged a base shipping and handling rate to start the process. In this case, we couldn’t opt the PDF’s out of this process, sadly. You’re more than welcome to purchase this, and I will provide a 5 dollar credit if you checkout with Credit card. If you use PayPal it’ll charge instantly.

Sounds like a flaw in the system if they can't opt the PDF bundle out of their "base shipping and handling".

From the Kickstarter Update #61:

NOTE: Starting on September 17, we will check for recently-completed Kickstarter surveys once each week and send out PDF rewards as appropriate. Failure to complete your survey before the end of September 14 may mean that you won't see your rewards until the week of the 24th . . . and then, only if you complete your survey by September 21. Please make life easier on all of us and complete your Kickstarter survey today.

I fully cop to a level of impatience equal to a child on Christmas morning, but after a day, I’m getting concerned about the “as appropriate” and I’m worried that I might have made an error completing my survey properly since I went back into backerkit to add stuff!!

Has anyone else heard or seen any official communications from SJG?

We are working away at it. Ben is completing all necessary corrections that were identified during the premortem and, as of late yesterday, he expects to finish later today. We would rather send the files with known errors corrected than send out files with known issues.

At the same time, Brandon is preparing the Warehouse 23 accounts so that, starting the 19th or 20th, we can deliver the initial round of PDFs.

Correct. 19th or 20th of September is when we think we'll start sending out PDFs.
