Quick & Dirty conversion of D20SRD Monsters to GURPS
Inspired by this thread, I decided to give it a go and try to do a quick & dirty conversion of the D20SRD monsters into GURPS using the basic DF critter template. I wanted to know if any would be interested by a project like this. I decided to start with the ones with the less complicated builds/abilities. The D20 stats are available here. Here is what I came up with so far.

Re: Quick & Dirty conversion of D20SRD Monsters to GURPS
First off, let me say that I'm all for more bestiary and character templates, and I hope you convert more of these for GURPS use.
However, the "demon" classification is one you need to rethink, I think. "Demon" in D&D refers to a specific group of spirits, and second, neither an Arrowhawk nor an azer is either evil or a spirit. In fact, an Azer's a sort of firetouched dwarf. Fortunately, there's no mechanics effect to it here, so it's not worrisome to change or discard. |

Re: Quick & Dirty conversion of D20SRD Monsters to GURPS
People really should make pdfs of these kinds of things. This is very nice work and something that I personally have been looking for. But I would very much like to see a pdf of these. It would make my life so much easier. And yes, before anyone can say anything, I am lazy...

Re: Quick & Dirty conversion of D20SRD Monsters to GURPS
Something that might be of use is to make are meta-traits of the various D20 types and subtypes. Like:
D20 Elemental: Night Vision 5, Injury Tolerance (Diffuse, No Vitals, No Blood), Doesn't Eat or Drink, Doesn't Breathe, Doesn't Sleep, Immune to Metabolic Hazards, Social Stigma (Monster). I'm sure I'm missing something, but you get the point. |
