HT Trauma plates vs all dmg types
Do trauma plates @ TL 7/8 protect against all damage types at full DR or just piercing and cutting?

Re: HT Trauma plates vs all dmg types
Trauma plates are regular (and rigid) DR. They are effective agaisnt all damage types in the normal manner.

A solid plate is useful against Crushing damage. It really isn't going to burn. And ceramic tends to react usefully to corrosion

As they don't have a full external shell they'll only provide limited protection against squeezing (it will prevent the chest from being compressed side to side, but not front to back), but that's mostly beyond the scope of GURPS.

Re: HT Trauma plates vs all dmg types
Martial Arts has a rule that rigid DR applies only at half value to grappling attacks, something it’d be perfectly reasonable to extend to Constriction Attack and the like.

Re: HT Trauma plates vs all dmg types
It's more like a lesser form of nonrigid; the actual DR of the plate doesn't matter if the attack you're using isn't dependent on breaching the plate.
