Default Autotrance give +2 to what exactly?

The RAW on Autotrance [p. B101] says it "gives a +2 on roles to contact spirits, etc." My question is, what is that "etc."? I was considering giving a +2 to uses of the Autohypnosis [p. B179] and Meditation [p. 207] skills. To much?

(I considered jumping into this 5+ year old thread: Autotrance with psi?, but seem to remember people talked ugly to for such things.)

Here, "etc." continues "spirits." That is, you get +2 on rolls to contact spirits and anything else that customarily finds it easier to get in touch with you when you're in a trance . . . telepaths, wizards, psychic TV broadcasters from the future, whatever. The details depend on your setting.

What is your sensory input like when autotrancing? Can you use it to ease the discomfort of hot weather or childbirth?

How does this interact with Meditation and Autohypnosis?

I allow it to reduce pain levels (B428), but that is sort of a house rule.

My take is that it doesn't. Based on Kromm's post previous to this, it seems that this perk is for medium-types who go into a trance to contact ... some entity. It only interacts with Meditation and Autohypnosis if/when those skills are used to contact ... some entity.

In my campaign, one of my PCs is a warrior with relatively low IQ, but with Intuition and Precognition. So with some effort, he can occasionally catch glimpses of the future. I allow autotrance to apply to these rolls, which may not exactly be RAW, but it makes sense to me and because his character's IQ isn't that all fire high, it's not gamebreaking.

Given that Meditation doesn't do anything significant (in Basic anyway, though IIRC MA doesn't add anything significant either), I think the question is only relative for Autohypnosis. Now, Body Control, for purposes of entering hybernation or a death trance, on the other hand, should probably benefit at least slightly.
