Default Munchkin Dice Rules

As far as I can tell from reading other, older topics related to the Munchkin Dice rules, the Powers That Be have decided that, in order to keep the Munchkin Dice rules specific to Munchkin Dice (and not any old 10-siders), the rules included therein are not available on the internet.

With Munchkin Dice out of print, are those rules going to be released? Are they going to be included with Munchkin: Reloaded, despite it not actually coming packaged with the dice?

I ask because I happened across one such die in one of my Warehouse 23 orders, and I don't know what the rules regarding the die are, should I choose to play with them.

I've found the Munchkin Dice rules to be somewhat self-defeating, because you have to lose a level in order to use the die. Most of the results on the table are not nearly as good as the level that you lost.

Mr Chad, with all respect, I highly disagree.

In a single round, due to the aspect of gaining that level back and continuing to roll, my cousin was able to keep rolling and nailing everyone, and adding up sex-change after sex-change, until he was at -50 for his next combat, everyone had changed cards at least three times, and we were all dying of laughter because HE... JUST... KEPT... ROLLING... It was one of the most fantastic games of munckin we've ever played. It took us 4 hours to finish.

No, we do not plan to release those rules at this time.

I use the dice for their primary purpose (tracking levels); experiments with the table have generally been underwhelming.

I have to disagree, too. I know of one guy at an epic tournament who used the rules and made it to level 19 before even kicking down his first door. There IS a reason why these are banned from tournament use.

They are? I wasn't aware of that

Are we all talking about the same Munchkin Dice rules here? Because the ones I know of can't be used at level 1, and getting your level back stops you from rolling again. (Unless you got a GUAL card from the door deck or another player) There's no method I see of gaining a level above what you already spent to roll.

Talked with the powers that be, and we've decided that since we don't have a reprint of Munchkin Dice planned*, and if we do, we'll probably do something new anyway, we're going to post a PDF of the rules when we get a chance. Thanks to everyone for your input on this.

* Yet.**
