Default Help me make a "Vampire Spawn" template.

Long story short, a society of evil wizards is taking control of the Motherlands, enslaving entire human and elvan cities in my fantasy TL3-4 setting. In doing so, they decided that controlling humans would be easier if they were transformed into undead. After this evil ritual whose intricancies I'm still tailoring, they are able to twist normal citizens, and the result is vampire-like creatures, I'm using the term "Vampire Spawn" for now.

I'm having trouble and can't decide which route to go when creating these creatures.

The general guidelines would be:

- The default Vampire template is clearly too strong; So obviously this new Vampire Spawn template should cost between 0 and 80 points.

- "Vampire" is mostly a reference name. These creatures aren't zombies or ghouls, neither are they skeletons or ghost. They are Undead and, at least in appareace, more similar to Vampires.

- While they should have "No Biological Hazards", most of the challenges when it comes to killing Vampires probably shouldn't apply here (necessity of wooden stakes and so on.)

- They do crave blood and are definitely evil and twisted, but not irrational.

Anyone ever attempted creating a similar template?

IT: Unliving, along with a Supernatural Feature/Unnatural Feature or two should work for the Undead part.

As for craving blood, perhaps a Restricted Diet disadvantage? If they're hungry, they want blood.

Anyone ever attempted creating a similar template?
I can think of a lot of ways to build a "low-level vampire-type-creature" on 0-80 points. Are there any specific abilities that you do want them to have?

GURPS Zombies has a Zombie Maker which may help you get exactly what you're looking for. Good for more than just "zombies".

Lets see:

ST+4
DX+2
IQ-2
HT+2

Advantages:
High Pain Threshold
Appearance+2 <If your an evil group of wizards making a slave race...>
IT: Homogenous
Regeneration Very fast (Temporary disadvantage: ST-10, DX-5)
Impaling Striker (Fangs, switchable, negated advantage appearance+2- so they can 'ghoul out' to bite)
Cutting Striker (Claws, Switchable, negated advantage appearance+2- so they can 'ghoul out' to claw)

Disadvantages:
Reprogramable duty: Necromatic masters
Fanatascisim: Necromatic masters
Restricted Diet, blood
No body heat, pallor
Vulnerability: Silver x4
Dread: Holy ground

Advantages:Doesn't Breathe 20, Dominence 20, Immunity to metabolic hazards 30, Injury tolerance 20, Reduced Consumption 4,Unaging 15, Unkillable1 achilles' heel: wood 50, vampire bite 30.

Disadvantages:restricted diet:fresh blood-10,uncontrollable appetite(human blood/severe)-30 weakness (Sunlight 1d/minute)-60, Supernatural features body heat-1* Pallor-5*, vulnerable to holy weapons x 4 -40, vulnerable to fire x2 -30.

hp +2 fp +1

ST+2
DX+1
Ht+2

your 80 pt template.

Why not just Teeth (Fangs) and Claws?

Ever see Buffy or Angel? It's so vampires can look perfectly human while they're just walking around, and then they can get the claws and fangs going when a fight gets serious.

Why not just Teeth and Claws with Switchable, then?

They come with an appearance ugly enough to cause a fright check for people who have never seen anything supernatural before, and putting somebody off guard (or causing them to turn around to flee) is a pretty good way of getting a free hit or grapple.
