Wow, okay, that's some good weight behind the modifier and argument for it. And as I didn't actually get the chance to talk to him about it due to him being under the weather, I'll just link him this thread and the blog and let him read them. Hopefully between the two, and the explanation for what Summoned is, it'll alleviate his concerns and we can move on with char-gen and whatnot.

If it helps at all, please tell him to email me (use the forum function) and I'll happily answer questions he might have. If he doesn't want to use it because he doesn't like it, that's different, I can't do anything there, but this is what I use for my campaigns and apparently a lot of other people do as well.

That's a kind offer, though I can report that his outlook on the matter has shifted to a more positive one after reading the post/hearing that it was you who made the modifier - he has all but straight up said it's allowed, which makes things significantly easier.

I relayed the message anyway though, just in case he does happen to have questions, if that's alright.

Otherwise, I think this may be a settled issue folks, in which case I'd like to thank you all for your ideas and input.

It appears that ghostdancer recently moved the blog, and that will have disrupted a lot of the links. Its got a search function though, so if you know what you're looking for, search it.

The setting is mostly typical Fantasy, albeit less power/overt power than a standard D&D game. On top of that, magic items are limited/rare, otherwise I might have probably just tried to brute force it with an item.

With any luck it's something doable at this power level, and any help with ideas or methodology is appreciated.
Have you considered "Powers: Divine Favor"? p. 13 features a golem, and it costs around 106 points (if you are going to summon it). Also, you can have access to other nice powers which yo might adjust to fit in the geomancer gimmick. On the other hand, p. 14 lists several golems with several costs (if your main PC is going to be the golem).

Thinking about this, you will have almost 170 CP left if you choose summoning the golem taking this path; so you may be capable of handling this material with your budget.
