I re-did the weapon tables decades ago to give the +1 you mention to swung 2-handed weapons. Seems to work very well and make sense and be more balanced.

The flail parry weight limit seems like it ought to take into account the weight of the flail being parried, too. And not to just say you can't, but to specify what happens if/when someone tries anyway.

This seems to scale poorly. Why can't you parry a tiny flail with a big knife?
