Default Maneuver Drive Fuel Requirements

Is it safe to say for GURPS Traveller, that Fusion Power Plants are self sufficient (and require no fuel), therefore there is no requirement for fuel load out for maneuver drives or power plants?

Yes, that's correct.

Thanks! So we ignore all the deck plan drawings indicating fuel tanks for Traveller ships?

Obviously not in the case of starships. They still have jump fuel requirements.

GURPS Traveller has a number of differences from other versions that make it difficult to take the deck plans from those other versions at face value. The most serious is that streamlined vessels have 20% less interior volume than non-streamlined, for the same nominal tonnage (GT, p. 151). Dropping the power plant fuel requirement actually helps offset this somewhat for small vessels.

Traveller deck plans (of any version) are more artistic than exact in any case, however, so you're probably fine to just ignore the differences.

Thanks :) I guess this means the star ships can carry more fuel for jumps and therefore do more jumps than in CT/MT.

Not really. Every Jump still requires 10% of the ship's dTons per J-number. That's a lot and I don't remember M-Drive fuel being very large in comparison.

Power plant fuel was 1% per power point number, which could get significant in the case of high tech warships (10-15%) but wasn't for most PC ships.
